All series 481 military payment certificates were printed by two companies located in Boston, MA. They were Tudor Press and Forbes Lithograph. They really didn’t put much work into the 50 cent denomination. It, like the other MPC fractionals for this series, is very plain. The colors are dark and it also has text that reads “for use only in united states military establishments by united states authorized personnel in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.” Replacements are pretty tough to find for 50 cent notes on the 481 series.
