Series 521 fifty cent military payment certificates were circulated on U.S. military bases in 19 different countries. It was the most widely used MPC. Interesting fact, 521 notes were one of only two series of MPCs to circulate in Northern Ireland. As you might expect, based on the fact over 8 million of these were printed and the fact that they were used in 19 countries, these are very common today. Both replacements and regular issues have “for use only in united states military establishments by united states authorized personnel in accordance with applicable rules and regulations” written on them.
